Still Green
The quiet green that grows in the corners we walk past.
I am Ezra. I live in Redhill Lane and write about the neighbourhood the way someone might catalogue weeds in a notebook — not because they are rare, but because they are there, persistently, when you look down. This site is a homemade journal. I walk the same routes to the MRT, buy teh from the same stall when I am early, and notice how Bukit Merah changes in small increments: a new pot on a ledge, a drain cover replaced, moss returning to a back lane after the cleaners pass.
Most posts here are short essays — food centre mornings, a kind stranger on the bus, cuttings on my kitchen sill. One longer piece sits at the front of the journal: an evening near Chin Swee Road when sirens passed and I understood only that something serious had happened nearby, without learning what. Everything else stays gentle. That is the shape of this blog.
I do not write to instruct or impress. I write because details slip if I do not set them down — the colour of tea in a plastic bag, the way Alexandra Linear Park smells after rain, the seam of green between two paving stones. If you have time, start with the journal. If you only have a minute, read the featured piece below.
About Ezra
I notice drain seams, corridor plants, and the way ABC Brickworks sounds before the lunch crowd arrives. I live in Redhill and write when the fan is on.
